Getting Ready
I am so excited for my girl's getaway. I took two personal days to go with my friends to the Brimfield Antique and Collectibles Show in Massachusetts. Melany (www.projectanthologies.com) is opening a fabric store on our main street and wants to decorate with antiques. I am so excited for her and can't wait to live vicariously. I have never been to a show of this magnitude. I plan on bringing both a video camera and regular camera to document our journey. There is more to come!!! Stay tuned......

Myrtle Beach Fun
Over the spring break we continued our Myrtle Beach tradition. This is the third year in a row that we went. For the last two years we have gone with my good friend Alisha and her family. We stay at a house right on the beach. I would never want to stay anywhere other than beachfront. I'm totally spoiled now. Our view was amazing, especially with a morning beverage. We were near the pier, which made for a beautiful backdrop.
I hope everyone else had an enjoyable and relaxing vacation!!

Easter Mantle
A month ago my friend Angie and I got some pieces of wood cut at Lowe's (they turn the other way when they see us coming now). I painted mine a variety of spring colors, added vinyl I cut with my silhouette, and tied them up with a bow.
I framed a cute vintage picture I downloaded from the Graphics Fairy blog.

I made a wreath using an old grapevine wreath form. I added moss, eggs, and spring silk flowers.
And here it is, all put together.
I love the colors all together. It doesn't really match with my fireplace color, but I can't really paint that for every season :)

Easter Egg Button Tree
I love taking dollar store items and jazzing them up into something special. I bought a potted Easter Tree, carrot ornaments, and egg ornaments.
First I spread the branches apart. I cut out leafs from coordinated fabric and glued them onto the branches. I layered buttons and strung them onto other branches. Then, my daughter and I added the carrot and egg ornaments. As a finishing touch, I cut a circle of burlap and tied it around the pot with ribbon for a fresh look. I incorporated it into my Easter mantle, which I will feature in my next post.

Banner O' Luck
I have time to squeeze in one more St. Patrick's Day craft. This time I used wooden shamrocks and the word Luck that I purchased from....wait for it....PYP!! Anyone that doesn't know what PYP means, it's Pick Your Plum, my new addiction (next to Pinterest of course). Here is the raw product.
Anyhoo, I decided to modge podge different scrapbook paper on each letter of LUCK and paint the shamrocks green of course. I drilled small holes and laced on the twine. I tied a few coordinating fabric strips in between and it turned out CUTE, CUTE, CUTE!!!

Lucky Wreath
I don't have many (ok not really any) decorations for St. Patrick's Day. I really love making wreaths so I whipped this beauty up the other day. Here is a mini-tutorial on how I did it.
![]() | ||
| I like to use foam wreaths for these projects. |
![]() |
| Cut your fabric in 1 1/2 inch strips and wrap it around the wreath. |
![]() |
| I try to overlap the fabric and use as little glue as possible because I don't like the look of it. |
| I cut out burlap diamonds to use as the banner. I spelled out LUCK with scrabble letters and glued them on |
![]() |
| Little Shamrocks from Pick Your Plum. I decoupaged some cute scrapbook paper on it. |
| I made a variety of flowers. Tutorials for these flowers are all over blogland, but I would be happy to provide a tutorial on them if anyone wants. |
I love it up against my shabby green chair. I will be linking to the following St. Patrick's Day linky party.Woo Hoo, my lucky wreath was lucky enough to be featured on Someday Crafts!! Thank You!!!
