Chevron Magnet Board

My friend Melany opened her gorgeous Fabric store called Project Anthologies (www.projectanthologies.com).

I wanted to make her a little something for the store. I know that we share a love of chevron so I used some gray Riley Blake chevron fabric and adhered it to a metal board I got at a store on clearance. I love the shape of the board.

I added a cute little pennant and made some magnets for it.

I want to share some shots of her store.

I helped cut the pennants for this great banner.

Melany turned a pink pleather chair into this beauty by reupholstering it with some beautiful fabric.

Beautiful Bloom

It's no secret that I am a Frequent Flyer at Pick your Plum. A few months ago I purchased these

I held onto them for a while, uncertain of how to transform them. I've mentioned in previous posts that my friend Melany from Project Anthologies is opening a fabric store. She has been giving me leftover fabric from the samples she has sewn for the store. I decided to use them on the flowers and give them to her for the store.

I modge podged the fabric on and added the retro spigot and jewelry to the center. I love the depth and texture it creates.

For this one I painted it with chalk paint and made a flower with gray chevron and turquoise felt.

I think she liked them and I hope it shows her customers that there are many uses for her gorgeous fabric!!

Wreaths and more Wreaths

I've been working on some of my burlap wreaths this weekend. I was so thrilled when a friend and coworker asked me to display some in her business. Here are a few new ones.

Two very different styles for different tastes. Which one fits your style??
I'll be linking to a new party this week:

Beachy Burlap Wreath

I had some more fun with burlap. I bought this teal burlap from eBay. I used a wire wreath form and weaved the fabric in and out to make it full. I used approximately 20 feet of burlap. Then I added some burlap flowers, shells, and starfish.

Fun in Brimfield

Wow is really the only way to describe the Brimfield Antique and Collectables Fair. I went with three lovely ladies and we had so many laughs. Here is Angie and I in the back seat on our way
And here are our provisions!
We all had our jobs for the trip due to Sara, the trip organizer and coordinator. Here is a picture of Sara and Angie.
My job was the historian and wheeler/dealer. Angie took my job very seriously and made me take pictures of her with all the things she loved.
She made a great find with this beer tin featuring her last name!!
Melany found some great items for her shop. I did spot most of them for her...good thing she brought me- LOL
The food was yummy but expensive and tables were difficult to come by. The French fries were to die for. We found some interesting items.
Here are some pics of the tents.
I really love vintage ceiling tiles so I splurged on this mirror. Pay no attention to the hair, it was a windy day.
It was a great trip and I am so excited to see how Melany will use all of the cool things we found. Thanks for inviting me!!

Getting Ready

I am so excited for my girl's getaway.  I took two personal days to go with my friends  to the Brimfield Antique and Collectibles Show in Massachusetts.   Melany (www.projectanthologies.com) is opening a fabric store on our main street and wants to decorate with antiques.  I am so excited for her and can't wait to live vicariously.  I have never been to a show of this magnitude.  I plan on bringing both a video camera and regular camera to document our journey.  There is more to come!!!  Stay tuned......

Myrtle Beach Fun

Over the spring break we continued our Myrtle Beach tradition. This is the third year in a row that we went. For the last two years we have gone with my good friend Alisha and her family. We stay at a house right on the beach. I would never want to stay anywhere other than beachfront. I'm totally spoiled now. Our view was amazing, especially with a morning beverage.

We were near the pier, which made for a beautiful backdrop.

I hope everyone else had an enjoyable and relaxing vacation!!
