I so loved my fall burlap wreaths that I had to come up with a winter one. I used red burlap to wrap a foam wreath. The flowers were made with mostly felt and a cute gray/black/ and red dollar store scarf. I added some stacked buttons, metal snowflakes, and berries for a little texture.
It now hangs in my friend Angie's house (aka my best customer). I miss it and might have to steal it back.

Brand New Winter Projects
I have wanted to share some crafts that I did in November and December that I haven't had time to post about. Here goes.

| I alternated festive fabrics onto a foam cone and glued it onto candlesticks. The strips of fabric were ruffled using a running stitch. |

Hey Santa, Got Milk?
I put together a cute little gift for a friend of mine using my silhouette. I bought the images from the silhouette store, have I mentioned how I love this machine. I also made a great discovery, after running out of transfer paper, I tried clear contact paper and it worked great. Especially, because I had to try to center the design and the contact paper allowed me to see the plate as I did it.

Advent Calendar
I know it's been awhile. I have been busy getting things together for a winter craft show that took place last weekend. I hope to share some of the things I made in the next week. For today, I am featuring an Advent calendar I made a couple of years ago that is still in excellent shape. The background of the calendar is a table runner I picked up at Home Goods (loved the embroidered trees at the bottom). Then I found the felt mittens and stocking ornaments at Big Lots. I cut the top off the table runner and wrapped it around the dowel. Then I glued the ribbon on and fed it through a metal ornament I found at Walmart. The mittens and stockings are hot glued on and embellished with buttons and numbers. It is difficult to find treasures to fit these little things but I sometimes just add a message or fun activity. I have two kids so I have them take turns every other day.
I love seeing all the variations of Advent Calendars. I would love to see yours!!

Countdown
I've been playing with my beloved Silhouette and creating some items for the upcoming winter craft show. I found red signs at Hobby Lobby (50%) off and added the words "Days until Christmas" cut out of white and green vinyl and then chalkboard shapes out of chalkboard vinyl I purchased at a great price at Pick your Plum!!

Silhouette Cameo = Love
I didn't win the Silhouette Cameo so I bought one from Overstock for $269, best price I could find. I am still playing around with it and I'm overwhelmed and excited by all of the possibilities. I downloaded a flower template from the store and cut out some coordinating fabric to make these adorable flowers.
There is much fun to be had with this machine...I lay awake thinking of the possibilities!
